AltTrack.com (“AltTrack,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the AltTrack portfolio tracking service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information. By using AltTrack, you agree to the practices described here.

We collect information you provide directly when you:

• Create an account (email address and password)
• Enter investment data (investment names, transaction amounts, dates, and related financial information)
• Invite portfolio viewers (their email addresses)
• Contact us for support

We also automatically collect technical information when you use the service, including browser type, operating system, pages visited, and usage patterns. We use a third-party product-analytics provider to understand how AltTrack is used and to improve it, which may include session recording. Session recordings may capture your interactions with the interface but do not capture passwords or payment information.

When you use AI-generated insights, the investment data relevant to your request is transmitted to a third-party AI provider to generate that insight.

3. Cookies and Tracking

AltTrack uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and analyze usage:

• Session cookies — required for authentication and to keep you logged in
• Preference cookies — remember settings such as view preferences and sidebar state
• Analytics cookies — used by our analytics provider to understand usage, including session recording

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect functionality, including your ability to stay logged in.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the AltTrack service

• Send service-related communications such as portfolio viewer invitations

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information or financial data to third parties. Ever.

Your data is stored on a managed database platform with row-level security, so your investment data is isolated — no other user can access it. We implement industry-standard measures including:

• Encrypted data storage
• Secure authentication
• Row-level security policies ensuring data isolation

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Portfolio Viewer Access

If you invite someone to view your portfolio, they receive read-only access to your investment data and cannot add, edit, or delete anything. You can revoke viewer access at any time from your Settings page. Invitation emails are sent via our third-party email provider.

7. Third-Party Services

AltTrack works with third-party service providers who process certain data on our behalf so we can operate the service. We share only the data we deem necessary for each purpose. The categories of service providers we use are:

• Infrastructure and hosting — to run the application, store data, and deliver the service reliably.
• Authentication and security — to verify your identity, secure your account, and protect the service against abuse.
• Payment processing — to process subscription payments. Payment card details are handled directly by our payment processor; AltTrack does not store your card information.
• Transactional email — to send account-related messages such as verification codes and invitations.
• AI-powered insights — when you use portfolio insight features, relevant portfolio data is sent to an AI provider to generate the analysis you request.
• Product analytics — to understand how the service is used so we can improve it.

Each provider maintains its own privacy practices governing how it handles data.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account and investment data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information and investment data within 30 days. Some data may persist in backups for up to 90 days before permanent deletion.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export your investment data
• Withdraw consent for data processing

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date, and for material changes we will email registered users. Continued use of AltTrack after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
